Make merchants feel understood
Groupon is a well-known consumer brand that wouldn’t function without businesses of all sizes interacting with the same regularity. SMEs were, after all, the source of each deal! To entice those relationships and foster loyalty, added attention was needed on the merchant-facing part of Groupon.
A sub-brand tailored for business
We wanted a sub-brand for Groupon that celebrated their day-to-day goals for growth and success. A strong signpost for value and benefits that was often hidden in anonymity.
The Mpetus
A mark was crafted that spoke of retail sales (sales ticket), and business growth (rising business charts), focused on the merchants (The big M), but still tied to the umbrella company (the bold font and green color). The Mpetus symbol was born. Whenever you saw it… you knew Groupon meant business.
